Willebroek is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Blaasveld, Heindonk, Tisselt and Willebroek proper. On January 1st, 2004 Willebroek had a total population of 22,838 (11,165 males and 11,673 females). The total area is 27.41 kmē which gives a population density of 833.34 inhabitants per kmē.
The original 16th century canal north from Brussels ran straight from Willebroek north to the Rupel, where the village of Klein Willebroek was built on wetlands reclaimed by spoil from the canal.
