Under-rated actor, clearly with a broader range than hollywood -pretty boys on screen these days, his performance in the filmed play "Dionysus in '69" proves he researches his material. And, so far as his performance in Phantom of the Paradise, this author's guess is that he's a reader. Having had the honor of meeting Mr. Finley during a celebration of the classic DePalma movie, I asked if he'd sign both books (1&2) of Faust, edited by Philip Wayne and he smiled and said. "Wow! That's almost the original!" As well as working with Brian DePalma (one of the perceptive few who recognise the man's talents) he's also appreciated by Tobe Hooper and was in "Silent Rage" (Dr. Paul Vaugn), and the movie "One Hour before Midnight." This author looks forward to seeing Mr. Finley in "Black Dahlia" and would take this time to plead with Mr. Edward Pressman NOT to attempt to 'remake' (read as: 'mutilate') "Phantom of the Paradise." The role of Winslow was written for Bill.
