Wilson County is a county located in the state of Texas. As of 2000, the population is 32,408. Its county seat is Floresville6. The county is named after James Charles Wilson.

According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 2,094 km˛ (809 mi˛). 2,090 km˛ (807 mi˛) of it is land and 4 km˛ (2 mi˛) of it is water. The total area is 0.20% water.

There are 12,110 housing units at an average density of 6/km˛ (15/mi˛). The racial makeup of the county is 81.19% White, 1.21% Black or African American, 0.58% Native American, 0.30% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 14.25% from other races, and 2.43% from two or more races. 36.52% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 11,038 households out of which 40.00% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 66.50% are married couples living together, 9.20% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.00% are non-families. 17.10% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.80% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.89 and the average family size is 3.26.
