Wimbledon is a suburb of London, part of the London Borough of Merton seven miles (11.3 km), southwest of London's centre at Charing Cross.
Wimbledon Football Club won the FA Cup in May 1988 prompting great celebrations in the streets of the town as the team appeared on the balcony of the Town Hall.
