Wisden is the main publisher of information on cricket in the United Kingdom. Founded in 1864 by the English cricketer John Wisden (1826-1884), its main publication is Wisden Cricketers' Almanack (often called simply Wisden), an annual publication devoted to cricket records and statistics. It is generally regarded as the standard reference work on the subject. Matthew Engel is the current editor.


Wisden also publishes the magazine The Wisden Cricketer, presents the annual Wisden Cricketer of the Year awards, and operates the Cricinfo website.
