Encyclopedia > Wollemi National Park

Wollemi is a national park in New South Wales (Australia), 129 km northwest of Sydney.


It is the site of only known stand of the Wollemi Pine, a species thought to have become extinct before Australia separated from Antarctica approximately thirty million years ago but discovered alive in the 1990s.
