Capitol Sports Promotions began touring all over the island, and with the golden era of boxing in Puerto Rico limited only to Ponce and the metropolitan area of Puerto Rico, Capitol Sports Promotions took their shows to many, inner country towns where people were not used to seeing live in-ring sports events. As a result, Capitol's shows usually filled the smaller town arenas. For other senses of these words, see boxing (disambiguation) or boxer (disambiguation). ...

He was joined by the already retired Savinovich, to form one of Puerto Rico's most famous broadcasting duos in history, which complemented the narrations of the matches by Joaquin Padin JR. Some time later, Rickin Sanchez (and his production company R & F Television) left the production of "Super Estrellas.." due to some disagreements with the ownership of WWC, and then Hugo Savinovich became the main host of the programs. Bruiser Brody Murder In 1988, American star Bruiser Brody was murdered in a WWC Anniversary event in Bayamon. The alleged murderer was fellow wrestler Jose Huertas, known as Invader I. Apparently, the two men had a real-life feud that led to a confrontation in the locker room, that concluded with Brody receiving various stab wounds to his chest. It is said that a "witness" to the series of events that ended in the murder was Tony Atlas (even though he was not an eye-witness of the murder itself, it is said he saw both men enter an area of the locker room, and then Invader leaving alone... moments later Brody was found). Year 1988 (MCMLXXXVIII) was a leap year starting on Friday (link displays 1988 Gregorian calendar). ...

After Brody's death, and the failed conviction of the suspected murderer, WWC went through some difficult years, due to the fact that the flow of wrestlers that came from the United States suddenly ended. In a crisis that the WWC never overcame, many wrestlers thought that the administration of the WWC actually helped Brody's murderer go free and actually allowed him to continue to wrestle after the events.

2007: WWC breakout Everything began to change in WWC on March 3 when IWA main star, former World Champion and TNA Tag Team Champion El Leon Apollo (German Figueroa) made his debut at Ponce, Puerto Rico. German Figueroa left IWA after having many disagreements with IWA owners. Its new name became Apollo (with two “l”) instead of Apolo (his original name). He feuded Joe Don Smith for several weeks in an action of getting him to respect his city (Ponce) and his fans. He then feuded Bronco and beat Alofa to become the new WWC Universal Heavyweight Champion. Apollo gained a lot of respect by his new fans. Another hit happened when WWC former Tag Team Champions Thunder and Lightning made a comeback on May 24. They feuded La Amenaza de la Destrucción (Madness of Destruction), formed by La Amenaza Bryan and Black Pain, both of them former Universal Heavyweight Champions. IWA official booker and TNA spanish commentator Hector Melendez signed a contract with WWC to perform similar tasks. WWC’s biggest moment was on July 13 in the 34th Anniversary of the company, taking place in Coliseo de Puerto Rico. The main event was Carlito Caribbean Cool vs Scott Hall, because Scott Hall had been said a lot of times in interviews that Carlito is just a “Mini Razor”. Bruiser Brody’s Cup match was another great match whose winner would win the prestigious cup and get a shot for any title. The winners were Cuban Connection Ricky Santana and Fidel Sierra but a new tag team called Legion of Armageddon appeared and won the match and a shot for the Tag Team Championships. Legendary manager Profe made his comeback to WWC and became the manager of this tag team. After 34th Anniversary, WWC has grown in all aspects and many other IWA superstars debuted in WWC forming a very controversial group of masked wrestlers called Encapuchados (that is like “masked men”), formed by Biggie, Jeffrey and then Stefano and Niche joined to the group. The popularity of this group grew up too fast that IWA created a similar group with a similar name in a desperate effort to stop losing fans. IWA superstar Joe Bravo also signed with WWC and appeared on an event called Guerra en el Norte (War in North) celebrated at Vega Baja. At this moment, WWC has good relationships with wrestling companies in Japan and the United States. Carlos Colon has been in conversations with WWE executives in order to evaluate the possibility of WWC becoming once again in a WWE development territory for new wrestling superstars. 66.98.44.208 05:17, 9 September 2007 (UTC)
