Wyoming Territory was an organized territory of the United States that was existed from 1868 until its admission to the Union as the State of Wyoming in 1890. Cheyenne was the territorial capital.
The territory was formally organized by Act of Congress on July 25, 1868. It was formed by parition of the Idaho Territory and with current boundaries of the State of Wyoming. It was admitted to the Union as the 44th state on July 10, 1890.
Wyoming is bordered on the north and northwest by Montana, on the east by South Dakota and Nebraska, on the south by Colorado, on the southwest by Utah, and on the west by Idaho.

Wyoming is the least populous of any state (or the District of Columbia) and has the lowest population density of the continental 48 states (Alaska's population density is lower although its total population is higher).
