The Hsing-chung Hui flag was designed by and is currently the flag.
The Hsing-chung Hui flag was designed by Lu Hao-tung and is currently the KMT flag.

The Hsing-chung Hui (興中會 Pinyin: xīngzhōnghu), translated as the Revive China Society or the Society for Regenerating China, was founded by Dr. Sun Yat-Sen on November 24, 1894 to forward the goal of establishing prosperity for China and as a platform for future revolutionary activities.


Since Sun was an exile from China at the time, the society was founded in Honolulu, Hawaii. Those admitted to the society swore the following oath:

Expel the foreigners, revive China, and establish a unified governmenent. (驅逐韃虜,恢復中華,建立合眾政府)

It was later merged into the Tongmeng Hui, which in turn became the Nationalist Party of China.
