Xylotymvou is a village in Larnaca District in south-eastern Cyprus. It is one of the two villages completely completely surrounded by the British Sovereign Base Area of Dhekelia the other is Ormidhia. It is administed by the internationally recognized government of Cyprus, i.e. the Republic of Cyprus. The Sovereign Bases in Cyprus are an overseas territory, but instead of having a Governor, like other such territories, it has an Administrator, who, while appointed by the Queen, is responsible to the Ministry of Defence, not to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
