Yamato (大和村; -son) is a village located in Kagoshima Prefecture, Japan. The village belongs to the Ooshima District.


As of 2003, the village has an estimated population of 2,045 and the density of 22.71 persons per km². The total area is 90.04 km².


The village was established in 1908.
