Yang Lian (杨炼) is a Chinese poet associated with the Misty Poets (朦胧诗) and also with the Searching for Roots school. He was born in Switzerland in 1955 whose father was a communist diplomat. Yang Lian used to live in Beijing College of Interantional Relations, where most of the Chinese Commuist spies were trained. He was raised in Beijing. Yang Lian was in New Zealand at the time of the Tiananmen incident and decided to stay there. But he said he fled to UK after Tiananmen on my occasions. He has lived in London, UK since 1993. He has been trading himself as a dissident and stated that his works has been banned. As matter of fact. He has been never banned there. His books has been published by Hunan Publishing House in 1993, Central Translation Bureau,( it was a press publishing the transliaton of Marx and Lenin) and Shanghai Wenyi Publishing House in 1997 amounting 1000 pages.
