Biography

Yash Chopra aka Yash Raj Chopra was born in Lahore, now in Pakistan, during British kaal. He was the youngest of the eight children fathered by Shri Vilayati 'aka judicial 'Raj Chopra. His brother Baldev Raj Chopra was a film journalist, who later began directing movies. Initially Yash worked as an assistant to I. S. Johar; then he worked for his brother. Later he setup his film production company Yash Raj Films. Baldev gave him his first directorial opportunity in Dhool Ka Phool.
