Yıldız Tilbe is a Turkish singer. She is one of the most successful and prolific selling music artists in Turkey, known especially for her eastern-infused ballads.
Yıldız Tilbe was born 16 July1966 in Izmir. While performing at a nightclub in 1991, she got acquainted with Sezen Aksu. For some time, she worked as a backing singer and colloborated with several other artists on their music projects. Yıldız catapaulted to fame with her debut album Delikanlım in 1994, and had a long string of hugely popular hits spread over a number of years. She had a turbulent personal life with problems related to drugs and a failed marriage, but has emerged stronger than ever before, and is now enjoying a resurgence in popularity.
