North YorkCentre is the name of the district in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, surrounding the Toronto Transit Commission subway station of the same name.
It was built to serve the growing downtown core of the former City of North York.
The North YorkCentre subway station is accessed through the basement levels of the two shopping malls at the intersection of Yonge Street and Empress Avenue; Empress Walk and North YorkCentre.
YorkCentre is a federal and provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons from 1904 to 1917 and since 1953, and in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1999.
YorkCentre was originally created in 1903 from parts of York East and York West ridings.
The centreriding consisted of the townships of Etobicoke, Markham, Scarborough and Vaughan, and the villages of Markham, Richmond Hill, Weston and Woodbridge.
