Yoshitomo Minamoto (1123-1160) was a Japanese noble during the Fujiwara shogunate and father to Noriyori Minamoto, Yoritomo Minamoto, and Yoshitsune Minamoto. Born to Tameyoshi Minamoto in 1123, he sided with the Taira clan against the Minamotos during the Hogen Insurrection in which both sided with rival factions during a minor dispute within the Imperial family in 1156. Following the Tiara victory, Minamoto was ordered to murder his father. Refusing the Tiara's orders, he left their service however he was later defeated fighting the Tiara during the Heiji Affair in 1159.
