Egyptian-born Youssef Moustafa Nada is a noted businessman and Muslim Brotherhood financial strategist, having recently served as chairman of al Taqwa Bank, the Lugano, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, and Bahamas-based financial services outfit accused by the US Treasury Department of money laundering for and financing of al Qaeda. Nada himself has vehemently denied funding Osama bin Laden or any other terrorist organization.[1] The Muslim Brothers (Arabic: الإخوان المسلمون al-ikhwān al-muslimūn, full title The Society of the Muslim Brothers, often simply الإخوان al-ikhwān, the Brotherhood or MB) is a world-wide Sunni Islamist movement and the worlds largest, most influential Islamist group[1]. Curriculum Vitae

Early beginnings

Youssef Nada was born on May, 17, 1931 in Alexandria, Egypt.[2] Several published accounts place him in the employ of German military intelligence during WW II,[3] however these appear to be based on assertions of French journalist, who himself did not check his sources.[citation needed]

The name of this french journalist is Richard Labeviere and the book with such allegations is Les dollars de la terreur (see page 148). He is a French national born on 4-5-1958 domiciled in 01210 Ferney-Voltaire/Ain/France, 23 bis rue deMeyrin. Tel +33-59-450408712. Bachelor, Journalist. Furthermore, it was rumoured that in 1991-1997 he was used for intelligence work in the Geneva UN centre for the account of European and Middle Eastern countries. We don’t know whether it is true or not.

What was amazing is that Labeviere later transferred the book into a film in which he added more fantasies.

A fake meeting in Algeria

It was claimed that in 1986, Ahmed Ben Bella, a former president of Algeria, Nada held a secret meeting at his Switzerland home attended by "major figures in some of the world’s most violent groups." People attending the meeting included Nada, the "Blind Sheikh" Omar Abdel-Rahman, and Sayyed Mohammad Hussein Fadlallah, a leading Lebanese Shi'ite Muslim scholar. US government sources believe Ben Bella, who is allegedly linked to violent Sudanese and Libyan groups, called the meeting to discuss ways to spread Muslim fundamentalism into the West.[4] Such meeting was first rumoured by the arabic newspaper Alsharq Alwasat but there are no sources proving that it has happened and Nada has vehemently denied any such thing to have occurred during an interview on Al-Jazeera. The strong ideological differences between the aforementioned individuals and the Muslim Brotherhood seem to also back Nada's claim, along with the animosity between Omar Abdel-Rahman's Jamaah Al Islamyah and the brotherhood. = The Swiss investigation of US allegations 2001-2005

Investigators probing individuals and firms suspected of funding terrorism say they have been given fresh evidence by the United States. A team of investigators, led by the Swiss deputy federal prosecutor, Claude Nicati, spent four days in Washington meeting with officials from the justice and treasury departments, the FBI and deputy attorney-general Larry Thompson “We got hold of the documents and information we have been asking for,” Hansjürg Wiedmer, a spokesman for the Swiss justice ministry, told swissinfo “All in all we are very happy with these meetings. It was very important to meet each other and also to see there is a common goal here, which is to bring those responsible for the assaults of September 11 to justice. Wiedmer said US investigators were expected to hand over more information shortly. However, he refused to disclose the contents of the documents, arguing that they were part of an “open criminal investigation in Switzerland”. That investigation is believed to relate to an ongoing inquiry into the Lugano-based financial services company, Nada Management, formerly known as AL TAQWA. The company’s offices in Switzerland were raided on November 7 – the same day that the organisation was accused by Washington of financing terrorism Nada Management’s two financial directors, Youssef Mustafa Nada and Ali Ghaleb Himmat, were detained for questioning at the time and later released. Nada has denied any connection with suspected terrorist Osama bin Laden and his al-Qaeda network A fortnight ago, the Swiss deputy federeal prosecutor Claud Nicati revealed he had been unable to establish a link between Nada Management and terrorism, and would be heading to Washington in pursuit of new evidence. rozen assets In a further development on Friday, the cabinet announced that it was freezing the assets of an additional 62 individuals and organisations suspected by the United Nations of having links to international terrorism. The Swiss government first drew up a list of proscribed individuals and organisations in October last year after the United Nations imposed sanctions on the Taliban regime in Afghanistan

The US treasury pressed and supported the Swiss government to investigate Bank Al Taqwa and its managment world wide. But documents supplied by the Americans to back up their allegations have failed so far to give the Swiss case any substance The prosecutors’ own investigations have also not revealed anything substantial and no decision has been made whether to press charges and launch court proceeding. After four and half years the president of Bank Al Taqwa Youssef Nada sued The Swiss fedral prosecutor, The court ruled that the prosecutors should have given some further reasons for the allegations made against Al Taqwa

 and its director in 2001

It added that Youssef Nada, who has been demanding an end to proceedings since 2002, should have been advised of specific charges. The court also said there was no reason for the prosecutor’s office to have taken so long to decide whether to hand the case over to a tribunal. It criticised the prosecutors too for claiming late last year that judicial proceedings were about to be launched. The court Gave the Federal prosecutor untill end May 2005 either to present the file to the instructing judge if he have any evidence or to close the file. On 31/5/2005 he closed the file and declared lack of evidence.

"The Project"

In November 2001, according to Swiss-French journalist Sylvain Besson (see book referenced below), a document was found during the raids on Nada's premises and offices. Although this was found along with newspaper articles, journals and several books in the offices of Bank Al-Taqwa (see the Swiss police stamps on the copy of the original document on page 192 of the book below) the journalist decides to re-entitle the paper "The Project" and claim that it was found in Nada's home. The document in its original Arabic form, see page 192 of the book by the originator of this fairy tale, never included any reference to the Muslim Brotherhood nor had the title later given to it by the French journalist. Nevertheless, in an effort to attract attention, the "Project's" conspiracy is pubblished by several people attached to the aferomentioned, see references below. They claimed the paper outlined a ridiculous secret Muslim Brotherhood plan to infiltrate and defeat Western countries.[5][6] Muslim Brotherhood leaders and Youssef Nada always denied such allegations, see the video interview with Newsweek journalists Hosenball and Isikoff on Nada's site www.youssefnada.ch. The Project is a 14-page document proported to authored by the Muslim Brotherhood outlining a long-term plan for an Islamic cultural invasion of the West. ... Prosecution in Egypt

In January and February of 2007, Egypt announced that it had freezed the assets of dozens of top Muslim Brotherhood figures, and that 40 of them will stand trial in Egypt’s military court. Figures targeted include most of the top leaders of the Al Taqwa Bank in Switzerland, the Muslim Brotherhood bank banned by the US for its alleged ties to al-Qaeda. Of the people tried in absentia only Nada and Ghaleb Himmat were associated to the bank. The Associated Press notes this court is "known for its swift trials and no right of appeal."[7] Indeed, the trials came before the regional elections and were targeted at trying to confine the Muslim Brotherhood given their previous success in parliamentary elections. The Egyptian government fears the brotherhood as it is the only opposition group with real popular support among the Egyptian population. The military trials have not, as of August 22nd 2007, resulted in any indictment.
