Yozgat is a city in Central Turkey in the Yozgat province. Its population was 74.000 according to 2000 census.


Ottoman Empire annexed Yozgat in 1398. After Timur Lenk's short hegemony, it has been reannexed to the Ottoman Empire in 1408.
