Comic books
Landman has published 2 comicbooks in 1997 (in dutch language only), Je mag alles met me doen and Het verdiende loon in 1998. For the second title he received the Price from Breda 1998, an award for rising new comic artists in Holland. Since then he published no other comic books, because he lost interest in the artform.
Musician Together with Cees van Appeldoorn he formed the lo-fi band Zoppo. After 2 albums and several 7”singles Landman left the band, because he couldn’t combine it with his own comicbookstore at that time. After leaving Zoppo he formed the noise band Avec Aisance (aka Avec-A) with drummer/producer Valentijn Höllander and releases a cd Vivre dans l’aisance. Live a bassplayer is added to the line-up. Currently they are working on a 2nd album.
Music Instrument Builder During his period in Zoppo, Yuri played bass and prepared guitar. Tired of the difficulties of sound reproduction of his guitar recordings, Landman began creating and building several experimental string instruments. The first album of Avec-A contained pictures of these instruments, but they were not used in the recording. For live shows, these instruments were used in the song from the album during noise solos. Avec-A has recorded a second album with these custom-made instruments, though it is not yet released. A prepared guitar is a guitar which has had its timbre altered by placing various objects on or between the instruments strings, including other extended techniques. ...
