Biography

Zachary Walker Hanson was born on the 22nd of October, 1985, in Arlington, Virginia. He is the third child of Walker and Diana Hanson. Hanson were originally a two piece band, but Zac soon joined as they needed a third person, because the two part harmony wasn't working. Zac has been performing with his brothers since he was 6 years old. In May, 1997, the band released their first studio album, Middle of Nowhere. The first single, MMMBop, made it to number one, world wide. Zac in the second youngest artist ever (UK & US charts), to have a number one single! After releasing four records through the record company Island Def Jam (formerly Mercury records), the band parted ways with them in 2003 due to irreconcilable differences and formed their own independent label 3CG records. ... Of course, it wasn't that well-kept a secret, judging by the gaggle of excited, camera-toting female fans at the gig, some of whom had to be told repeatedly by the Hotel Cafe staff to refrain from taking flash photos of their flaxen-haired idols.
Hanson's concert was a decidedly intimate and low-key affair, with youngest brother Zac hauling and setting up his own drum kit before the show.
And on a couple occasions during the hour-long set, two of the brothers even jumped offstage and sat on the floor with the rest of audience (and their beaming wives) while a third brother played a solo number.
