Ze'ev Friedman (1944 - September 6, 1972) was an Israeli weightlifter and victim of the 1972 Munich Olympics massacre. He was born in Poland and moved to Israel in 1960. He and his family were survivors of the Holocaust. He started his sports career as a gymnast. After a while of being a gymnast he decided that he liked lifting weights better. In 1972 he was at the 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich, (Germany) as a weightlifter. The Palestinian Black September group came and kidnapped several Israeli athletes including him. Then, after protracted negotiations, they brought them to an airport and killed them during a rescue attempt.
