Encyclopedia > Zebranky

The Zebranky are a fictional race of beings featured in the sci-fi Star Control computer game series.

The Zebranky are referred to only by the coexistent intelligences of the Zoq-Fot-Pik, having been rendered extinct, but they play a rather large part in the three races' history. The homeworld of the Zoq-Fot-Pik originally harbored four sentient races - the Zoq, the Fot, the Pik, and the Zebranky, the latter of which preyed on the first three. The Zoq-Fot-Pik banded together to wipe out the Zebranky. As of the time of the game, the Zebranky are considered ancient history.

Even though the Zebranky were wiped out over five thousand years ago, a memory of them remains in the culture of the Zoq-Fot-Pik.
The Zoq-Fot-Pik at times invoke a Zebranky metaphor for refering to dangerous and contemptible beings, as is seen in their comments about a Kohr-Ah Marauder attacking their homeworld and about The Captain should he choose to be malicious to them.
