Zikhron Ya'aqov (זִכְרוֹן יַעֲקֹב Ziḫron Yaʻaqov; unofficially also spelled Zichron Yaakov) (meaning Jacob's memorial) is a city in Israel, near Haifa, part of the Haifa District. It was established 1882 on Mount Carmel, South of Haifa, in memory of James Jacob de Rothschild. Attractions include the Aaronson House and Museum, and Rothschild's Tomb. As of late 2005, Zikhron Yaakov's population was 16,100.
