Between Berlin Marienfelde and Zossen between 1901 and 1904 different high-speed travel attempts with electrical locomotives and motor coaches were accomplished. These vehicles were propelled with three-phase alternating current by 15kV and variable frequency. The current feed was made by three overhead lines arranged one above the other. In Zossen lies a large area, which served from 1945 to 1994 as Soviet military plant and is civilian used since 1994. It was already in the First World War a military plant, where in the "half moon camp so mentioned" Muslim prisoners were accommodated, who fought on sides of the British army. This prisoner came from north and west Africa and India. For the Muslims among them even a mosque from wood was established. One promised oneself that the Muslims of the German side would follow. In the vineyard camp against it French and Russian prisoners found accomodation. From 1943 to 1945 the supreme command of the German army had its headquarters in Zossen.
