Zvezdara is one of Belgrades 16 municipalities. Its name comes from the word zvezda which means star. It has 150.000 residents.

The Municipality of Zvezdara covers an area of 3,165 hectares, which is inhabited by a population of around 150,000.
After the abolition of urban regions in 1952, the territory of the Municipality of Zvezdara was divided into Old Đeram and Zvezdara, and, in 1960, those two municipalities were amalgamated into the present-day Municipality.
