Zwaag is a town on the north side of the Dutch Town Hoorn in the province of North Holland. It was until 1980, a little farming village. It became part of Hoorn in 1979 inorder for Hoorn to expande and take up the surplus population of Amsterdam. At this point in time only a few of the farmers remain. Most of the land that belonged to Zwaag is now urbaniced and on places were no house are build, industrial zones have sprung up.
