NationMaster's GeoLab

Welcome to NationMaster's GeoLab homepage! If your looking for creative and interactive ways to teach and learn geography in the classroom, you've come to the right place! Below, you will see a small but growing list of GeoLabs that can be used by students to learn about a wide range of geographic and statistical skills, from using per capita calculations to learning about correlations.

Students can follow the directions of the GeoLab to move through the NationMaster database, answering questions along the way. They must also fill in their teachers e-mail address, so answers can be sent directly to their inbox. This is just another way that NationMaster attempts to bridge the divide between the web page and the chalkboard. No registration or payment is required, as this is an entirely free project which will hopefully open some young eyes to the rather rewarding field of statistics and country information.

Teachers: feel free to assign this GeoLab to one of your classes. We have a few choices of GeoLabs which are recommended for certain grade levels. If you have any comments or concerns, or advice on a new GeoLab you would like to see here on NationMaster, please contact us.

I found the GeoLabs entertaining and fun for my students. My students really enjoyed the way labs were laid out.
