PPP is given the following definition here: "Purchasing Power Parity (PPP) in Millions of International Dollars, 2004." Anyone who doesn't know what is PPP will be none the wiser after reading it. This is NOT a definition.

In your encyclopaedia you say (correctly) Japan's GDP-PPP is smaller than its GDP, but China's GDP-PPP is bigger than its GDP. However, your stats on China does not reflect it, showing China's GDP as bigger than its GDP-PPP (which is incorrect). The same with some other countries.

Your definition seems to link to wrong part of your encyclopedia. PPP in this context is Purchasing Power Parity (macro-economics) NOT point-to-point protocol (networking).

It would help if you included world totals, and regional totals in all your tables.

I cannot see TAIWAN's GDP.I think It is bigger than Australia ,but why it doesn't show inthe table.

In response to Kenton Thomas:

In 2000, the average income was $US8000 (based on purchasing power parity), including 2.4 billion people with incomes lower than $US1000.

The proportion of people living on less than 1, 2, 4 and 11 United States dollars per day is available in the economy category.

Other statistics you should consult include:

  • The income distribution to the richest 10% and poorest 10% in each country. Globally, the richest 13% of people in the world receive 45% of the worlds (PPP) income. In conrast, the poorest 42% pf people receive only 9% of the worlds income

  • The United Nations Human Development Index which ranks countries according to GDP as well as health and education factors.
