The Soviet Red Army used to twice a year draft every boy who had turned 18 in the last six months. The Red Army was full of kids from 18-20, few of whom reenlisted. An interesting statistic would be to find how many "lifers' are full time pros in different armies. |

The exact figures of its military strength are notknown, but the CIA estimates are that, in 2004, over 200 million were fit for military duty. It also estimated that China's military budget is anything between 3.5% and 5% of its total GDP and that its military expenditure was around USD60 billion in 2003. |
