NationMaster - Where Stats Come Alive!

Do you love statistics and country information? Interested in how countries of the world are compared? Do your friends and family come to you to know the literacy rate of the Gambia or the GDP of Malaysia? If you answered yes to any of these questions, consider joining our community of Volunteer Editors all over the globe, and help us build the largest and most accurate statistical database in the world. By dedicating just a small portion of your time, you can make an important contribution to education and world statistics. This is a project that could very well lead to a new way of looking at country information, and which allows you to be an integral part of an important online resource.

NationMaster is already the world's largest statistical database for comparing countries in the world, but with over 5,000 indicators and no sign of slowing down, we've decided to open up the database to our user community, and develop a dynamic project that relies on people all over the world.

Volunteer Editors should have the following qualifications:

A general love of statistics and/or country information
The willingness to be part of a community
Basic computer skills

The stat administration system for adding and editing statistics in our database is actually quite simple and easy to use. It allows you to surf the NationMaster website as you normally do. The only difference is that, having logged in as an Editor, you would see small links above each statistic which, when clicked on, will allow you to edit that specific stat.

Each Volunteer will be given a username and password to access the administration system, as well as our 10 page editor manual, an important set of guidelines which will help you along the way.

Administrators are here to help you at every step, and provide technical support and direction at your convenience. You can also contact them about specific questions you might have about the site, or ideas for new features and content. They are all experienced administrators and ardent stat geeks, interested in building a reference site that people enjoy and use.

Contributing some of your time to an online educational resource is in itself an admirable and rewarding experience.
