Adina Howard (b. November 14, 1974, Grand Rapids, Michigan) is a singer. Her debut album Do You Wanna Ride?, with the hit single, Freak Like Me, was released in 1995 and achieved high sales figures. A second album, Welcome to Fantasy Island (originally titled Portrait Of A Lady), garnered critical raves and a moderate hit with the lead single, Freak & You Know It, but was shelved by Elektra Records in 1997, due to their decision that the album "did not contain any other singles". With the distribution label and the record label in conflict, the album suffered without any publicity and a video, Nasty Grind, played on BET during early morning hours. 2005, was to be the release of The Second Coming: Remixed, but that project was shelved to make way for a new full-length album, Private Show. On Private Show Howard recorded in St. Louis, New York City and Los Angeles. Along with a new album, Howard worked with Nineteen76 Productions to bring documentaries for her fansite. Howard completed the album's recording process in 2006, with a few teaser songs (Phone Sex, Hips) released online. The album is now scheduled for March 27, 2007 release that will include songs written by the Track Boyz, Francci, and others. The first official single off the album is L.O.V.A., with an online contest made for her fans to appear in the upcoming music video for it. However, two other songs ("Picture This", "Doin' 80") have been recently rumored to become the lead single as well. Along with the release of the new album, fans are doubtful of the album's release once again because of the track record of Adina's label. Since the original release date of April 2005, the album has been delayed nearly a dozen times. Adina Howard did not let her label issues stop her from promoting the new album. She recently released phone ringtones of the entire Private Show album and her private jewelry collection entitled "Vixen Vintage".
