Akershus is parted in two different areas east and west of Oslo. The small area in the west includes the districts of Asker and Bærum. The vast part is east of the city, consisting of the landscapes Follo in southwest and Romerike in north and east. Akershus includes some of the lake Mjøsa and some of the river Glomma.
