Akhanda Bharatam (literally "undivided India") is the historic homeland of the Hindus, before Islamic conquest and colonial partition, which resulted in the subsequent conversion of a significant number to Islam and Christianity. It includes all of present day Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Tibet. Akhand Bharat is largely based on the concepts of religious or ethnic nationalism rather than a political state. It is an important part of the irredentist ideology of Hindutva subscribed to by Hindu nationalist organizations such as Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and political parties such as the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).Greater India Undivided India is a term which refers to the major part of the Indian subcontinent which comprised the British Raj, and included the current sovereign states of Bangladesh, India, and Pakistan. ... The concept of Akhand Bharat has much potential for creating strife between communities and neighbours, rather than for building bridges.
Akhand Bharat implies that we should use muscle to dominate the subcontinent.

The second issue which arose out of Advani’s statement was that he went against the BJP and RSS stand that India is indivisible, is an Akhand Bharat, by saying that the partition cannot be undone.
However, politically there has never been an Akhand Bharat because even under the strongest of emperors such as Ashok or Akbar there were large parts of the country which remained separate kingdoms.
Akhand Bharat, therefore, has to be a cultural concept, not a political one.
