Shnaider was originally going to start the team from scratch, however he purchased Jordan Grand Prix to guarantee his entry into the F1 world championship without having to pay the bond that otherwise would have been necessary. For the 2005 Formula One season season very little development work is likely to be done on the cars, however for the 2006 season a technical liasion with Dallara is likely to improve the technical quality of the cars. Shnaider's acquisition of Jordan has been one of the mysteries of the 2005 season and the team has made little progress and there has been no obvious investment for the future.
Shnaider says that he is not actively looking for a buyer but has had an approach from a Russian sponsor to acquire shares in the team.
Shnaider says that he is investing his own money in the team "on a scale that a board would have ousted me if Midland were a public company" and added that he is willing to go on investing "approximately the amount we will have invested by the end of this year".
