Arthur Oliver Wheeler (May 1, 1860 - May 20, 1945), born in Kilkenny, Ireland, came to Canada in 1876 to work as a Dominion Land Surveyor.[1] He was involved in surveying the Crowsnest Pass area in Alberta, and the Selkirk Range in British Columbia. While in the Canadian Rockies, Wheeler became interested in climbing. In 1906, together with Elizabeth Parker, he co-founded the Alpine Club of Canada.
