The Assemblies of God Statement of Fundamental Truths is a description of the doctrines that the Assemblies of God adhere to. These doctrines are heavily based on the evangelical confessions of faith, but differ by being clearly Pentecostal in many of their doctrines. The Assemblies of God is the worlds largest Pentecostal Christian denomination. ... Statements 1-6 are common confessions, typical of a traditional, conservative Christian denomination, including Biblical inspiration and infallibility. Baptism by water is considered an "ordinance" and is required. The Lord's Supper or Holy Communion is grouped with the ordinaances and is specifically termed a "symbol". Biblical inerrancy is the view that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is in every detail infallible and without error. ... Baptism is a water purification ritual practiced in certain religions such as Christianity, Mandaeanism, Sikhism, and some historic sects of Judaism. ... Statements 7 and 8 diverge from traditional Christianity by taking a more modern and Pentecostal view of the work of the Holy Spirit.
