Encyclopedia > Black crusaders

The Black Crusaders are a fictional secret society of powerful black americans whose goal is to ruin any one who would possibly make African-Americans look bad. In the 30 Rock episode Cleveland, Tracy Jordan is denied a $30 million loan to finance his biopic of Thomas Jefferson. Later in the episode, he learns that Bill Cosby has spoken negatively about his characterization of African-Americans, that Temple University (Cosby's alma mater) has canceled an appearance, and that Michael McDonald has refused permission for Tracy to perform cover versions of his songs; all of these, along with the movie, were going to be a part of Tracy's comeback. When learning of this news, Tracy proclaims that the Black Crusaders are after him (a possible reason for this is shown in a cutaway that shows Tracy stealing a television, confirming an archetypal black stereotype.)
