Carol Roux is an American actress who was an original cast member of Another World (1964) and was involved in one of the show's first major storylines. Melissa "Missy" Palmer (Roux) and Bill Matthews (Joseph Gallison) were a young couple in love, but in true soap opera fashion, their road to happiness had numerous hurdles, many the result of the interference of Bill's conniving mother Liz Matthews (Audra Lindley). The two were finally married, but their happiness was short-lived, as Bill was later drowned in a boating accident (Gallison left the series in 1969). Another World (AW) (sometimes called Another World: Bay City to distinguish it from its spinoffs in the 1970s and 1980s) was a Daytime Emmy-winning American soap opera which ran on the NBC television network (CTV in Canada) from May 4, 1964 to June 25, 1999. ... When NBC decided to launch a spinoff of Another World, the character of Melissa decided to move with her young son to the neighboring town of Somerset. Thus, actress Roux became an original cast member of yet a second soap. She stayed with Somerset for only a brief time, leaving the show in 1970 and presumably retiring from acting, as she has not appeared on any other television programs since that time. A spin-off (or spinoff) is a new organization or entity formed by a split from a larger one such as a new company formed from a university research group. ...
