Dalal Mughrabi (ca. 1959 - March 11, 1978) was a Palestinian terrorist lionized by Palestinian separatists. Her leadership role in a 1978 terrorist attack marked the emergence of women as full-fledged members of terrorist movements. On the morning of March 11, 1978, Mughrabi and her Fedayeen unit of eleven members (including one other woman) infiltrated an Israeli beach, killed an American nature photographer (Gail Rubin) and hijacked a bus along the coastal highway. The Israeli army pursued the bus until it was finally stopped. After the ensuing battle, all terrorists (including Mughrabi) died, as well as 36 Israelis.
