The Deltaic System (Sistema Deltáico) is one of the nine geographical regions into which Venezuela is divided. It is located in the whole extension of Delta Amacuro State and a few kilometers of Monagas State, comprehending the totality of the mouths of the Orinoco. It is divided in two sections: the principal, at the northernmost part of the system, located between Caño Mánamo and the left shore of Caño Araguao, where the majority of villages are established, including the state capital, Tucupita; and the secondary, between the right shore of Caño Araguao and Río Grande. The DELTAsystem is, practically speaking, the little brother of the Märklin Digital system.
The DELTAsystem focuses on the functionality of a starter set and in the simpler operations of an electric train.
The control unit for the DELTAsystem is a hand controller or the train control transformer, while in the Digital system there is a complete series of different control components available for different purposes.
The DELTAsystem was a hit at the fair, and one toy newsletter in Germany said it was one of only three things worth seeing at that year's fair.
DELTA is simply a command control system that eliminates complicated wiring and yet achieves multi-train operation with just two wires to the track.
On the back of the DELTA Control unit there are three wires which connect to a conventional 16 volt AC transformer/controller and four sockets for attaching the DELTA Pilot unit and the feeder track wires.
