Igor Liba played for ZPA Prešov (1970–1978), HC Košice (1978-1982, 1984–1988, 1991–1992, 1997-1998 and 1998-1999) and HC Dukla Jihlava (1982–1984) in Czechoslovakia, after 1993 in Slovakia. On Oct. 8, 1988, Minnesota suspended Liba indefinitely.
Liba and Pasek signed their first NHL contracts on May 27, 1988.
Liba, however, never played for the North Stars because Minnesota later traded Liba, Brian Lawton and Rick Bennett to N.Y. Rangers in exchange for Paul Jerrard, Mark Tinordi, Bret Barnett, Mike Sullivan and Los Angeles' 1989 third-round pick (Murray Garbutt) on October 11, 1988.
