History
KOST had a Beautiful Music format until November 1982, when they switched to an all-hit Adult Contemporary format. Over the years, the station has had solid ratings, and there has been little turnover in their airstaff. They still boast 3 personalities that were there at the beginning: Mike Sakellarides, Ted Ziegenbusch and Bryan Simmons; in fact, Simmons was the first deejay for their current format when it began on November 15, 1982. Sakellarides continues to host the midday show and Simmons drives L.A. home, while Ziegenbusch hosts the weekend edition of "Love Songs on the Coast." Beautiful music (sometimes abbreviated as BM / EZ) is a mostly-instrumental music format that was prominent in American radio from the 1960s through the 1980s. ...
