Landover is an area of Prince George's County in the State of Maryland in the United States of America. It is an unincorporated area, with no official status, but the United States Census Bureau considers it a part of the Greater Landover census-designated place. Landover is home to the corporate headquarters of the Giant supermarket chain and FedEx Field, home of the Washington Redskins, and was also home to the now-demolished US Airways Arena (originally known as the Capital Centre), formerly used for major concerts, professional basketball and hockey games, and where the cult-classic video documentary Heavy Metal Parking Lot was filmed. The community is also known for its heavy use of Go-Go music. The Prince Georges County Sports and Learning Complex is in Landover. Though small, Landover houses many neighborhoods which include: Manor Farms, Kentland, Palmer Park, Glenarden, Brightseat, Village Green, Lansdowne, Cheverly, and Portions of New Carrollton. Metrorail's orange line passes through the community. Landover Hills is a separate, incorporated community a few miles away.
