Encyclopedia > Lunation

Lunation is the mean time for one lunar phase cycle (i.e., the synodic period of the Moon).  It is on average 29.530589 days, or 29 d 12 h 44 min 3 s.  The length of this cycle is linked to many phenomena in nature.

In a lunar calendar each month corresponds to a lunation.

Individual lunations vary in length by several hours, because of the eccentricity of the orbits of the moon and Earth.  However, the lunation is never more than 15 hours behind or ahead of a mean lunation.

I went to bed early, got up at 5:30 and stopped at the post office to pick up a jersey that the promoter will love and made a bank run so now all that's left to do is get all the crap together and eat something.
Fourth Way®: Lunatic (350 words)
Lunatic does not mean a person deprived of ordinary mind or insane; they are not necessarily poor people, vagabonds, or street-dwellers.
The lunatic can make efforts which result in physical and mental damage both to themselves and to others, and which severely undermine the moral values which form the basis of society and civilization.
The lunatic can identify with an idea or become a fighter or advocate for a ‘cause' without seeing its relation to the whole.
