Malietoa Tanumafili II (born January 4, 1913) is the head of state (O le Ao o le Malo) of Samoa. He is a constitutional monarch. He was Joint-head of state shortly (1962-1963) with Tupua Tamasese. It is not surely known,who will be his sucessor.There are 3 possible candidates. Malietoa Tanumafili is rumoured to be the second longest reigning monarch in the world, he comes from Samoa's four royal families and carries with him the four paramount royal titles. His successor must get all the four titles in order to become the Tafaifa or monarch of Samoa.
