It is one of the four taluks of Thiruvananthapuram District. It is located around 20 km to the north-east of Thiruvananthapuram city on the Thiruvananthapuram — Thenmala State Highway. It is blessed with rich vegetation and flora and fauna. Nedumangad is an important centre for trade of hill and forest resources like pepper and rubber. Nearby Nedumangad town, is the Koyikkal Palace which is an excellent specimen of the traditional architecture of Kerala.Agasthyarkoodam, famous for its abundant ayurvedic herbs and medicinal plants is around 50 km from Nedumangad.
