Rav Aluf (Hebrew: רב - אלוף) is the rank held by the Chief of Staff of the Israel Defence Force. It is equivalent to the rank of Lieutenant General in the British or U.S. Army. Hebrew is a Semitic language of the Afro-Asiatic language family spoken by 6 million people mainly in Israel, parts of the Palestinian territories, the United States and by Jewish communities around the world. ...
