Split-brain is the condition where the corpus callosum connecting the two halves of the brain is severed to some degree. This is often done to treat epilepsy.

Split-brain is the condition where the corpus callosum connecting the two halves of the brain is severed to some degree. This is often done to treat epilepsy.

A patient with a split brain, when shown an image in their left eye will be unable to say what they have seen as the speech control centre is in the left hand side of the bran in most people, and as the image is sent to the right side of the brain and the two sides cannot communicate, the patient can't say what their left eye is seeing.
