Taliparamba (Perimchellur) is a city and a municipality in Kannur district in the Indian state of Kerala. It consists of 47 villages which are spread over an area of 1330.56 square kilometers (513.73 square miles). It stretches from the coastal area of Ramanthali to Nuchiyard and Vayathur villages, touching the Karnataka border. The total population of Taliparamba is 458,580 of which 162,013 are males and 158,143 are females. The undulating hills that surround this little town make it exceptionally beautiful. Administration

Taliparamba is a municipality. In Kerala they are called Nagarasabha. It is divided into 41 wards.[1] This is also the headquarters of the 3 taluks in the district of Kannur, the other two being Kannur and Talasheri. There are 47 villages in the taluk. They spread from coast to the hills. 13 Village panchayats that form the particular block panchayat are following Alakod Chapparapadava Chengalai Cherukunnu Kallisseri Kannapuram Kurumathur Naduvil Narath Pappinisseri Pariyaram Pattuvam and Udayagiri [2] It is also an Assembly constituency and traditionally Left Wing had been winning from this seat [3]. At present C.K.P PADMANABHAN is the MLA. Parts of this constituency however belong to Kasaragod Parliamentary constituency. There is also a police station and court.

Rajarajeshwara Temple

One of the prominent Hindu temples in Taliparamba is the Rajarajeshwara Temple, where Shiva is the reigning deity. It is believed to be very ancient and was supposedly renovated by Parashurama. Trichambaram Temple

Trichambaram Temple is situated about 1 km from Taliparamba town. The deity of the temple is Sree Krishna. The sculptures on the walls of the sanctum sanctorum are a class by themselves.
