Encyclopedia > Tizoc

Tízoc was the Aztec ruler (Tlatoani) of the city of Tenochtitlán. He took power in 1481, succeeding his brother Axayacatl. Tízoc was poisoned in 1486, after only six years of rule, by a general who thought him too weak.
